One of the biggest ways I’ve learned about connection is through CISV, which stands for Children’s International Summer Village. It started as a summer program but has grown into something much bigger—bringing kids from all over the world together for camps, projects, and activities all year long. I joined a
Village program, where for four weeks I lived, played, and learned with kids from many different countries. We didn’t just share games—we shared cultures, made friendships without borders, and discovered what it means to trust and work together.
For me, CISV wasn’t just a camp; it was like training for life. We started with name games to remember each other, ran around and laughed together, solved challenges as teams, and ended with trust activities that made our friendships even stronger. I saw how kids my age could come together across languages and cultures, and it showed me that peace and understanding start small, with simple acts of playing and listening. That’s why I see myself as a connector—I want to keep building bridges between people, just like I did at CISV.
